The CARES of Central PA Lifesharing Program enables individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in a family home environment, share life experiences and pursue opportunities with supportive people. Lifesharing allows individuals to live to their fullest potential by becoming active, participating members of another family.
As a Lifesharing Specialist for the Lifesharing Program, you will work carefully to match the right person with the right family or person. The essential functions of this position include:
- Ensuring sites meet CARES of Central PA quality of services
- Maintain client and providers files in accordance within 6500 regulations
- Preparing sites prior to licensing or moving a client into a home
- Participate in the interview and selection process, orientation, evaluation and supervision of Lifesharing Providers
- Track trainings for Lifesharing Providers and ensure each provider meets the state requirement of 24 hours training per year
- Organize and conduct quarterly Provider trainings
- Conduct Medication Administration trainings for Lifesharing Providers and CARES of Central PA staff and do annual practicums
- File incidents in EIM
- Attend monthly Leadership Meetings
Qualified candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field including social work, psychology, special education or human services.
- Three (3) years of experience working as a coordinator for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Two (2) years of direct care experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Current certifications in First Aid, CPR and medication administration.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Outlook and Google Docs.
- Proficient in HCSIS, the EIM incident reporting system and the agency data system.
- Valid driver’s license
All candidates must be able to secure PA criminal, FBI and child abuse clearances.
