Quality Technician

SUMMARY

The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting all aspects of production material and finish product. Must be able to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies. Approving and/or rejecting raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Examine products and materials for defects or deviations from company quality standard
• Conduct a variety of tests on inbound materials from vendors and outbound product for shipping
• Record and communicate problems with Quality Supervisor
• Read and understand company quality specifications
• Monitor and observe production to ensure they meet quality standards
• Inspect, test and measure materials and product being produced
• Measure products using rulers, scales, calipers, gauges and micrometers
• Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications
• Record inspection and test result data
• Maintain accurate record of inspections and testing
• Follow established quality procedures
• Ensure safe working practices are followed
• Other duties as assigned by management
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and guidelines
• Follow established procedures to maintain a clean and organized environment, including immediate work area, breakroom, and restrooms
• Attend all required employee meetings and trainings as scheduled by direct supervisor, management or administration
• Maintain individual skills and keep up to date with latest production and production required concepts

REQUIRED SKILLS

• High School Diploma, GED, or formal vocational training
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail
• Self-motivated and safety conscious
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Data Entry
• Knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills

RECOMMENDED SKILLS

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred.
• Familiarity with quality testing equipment and systems
• Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 13485 / ISO 9001, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The environment maintains an increased noise level.
• Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 5AM - 3PM with the possibility of Voluntary/Mandatory overtime. Work schedules may shift in days and hours worked due to production demand.
