Marine Engineer
C&C Marine and Repair, LLC provides a full range of marine and fabrication services including vessel fabrication, general fabrication, dredge fabrication, barge fabrication, barge repairs, barge stacking, vessels conversions, blasting, and painting. Located on Engineers Road in Belle Chasse, LA, 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans.
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Bilingual Engineer to join our dynamic team, who is fluent in English and Spanish. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and supporting production. Your proficiency in both English and Spanish will enable effective communication with engineering and production.
Job Functions:
· Includes engineering and drafting depending on work load.
· Provide engineering support to production.
· Involved with design work ranging from conceptual design to detailed construction engineering and drafting.
· Coordinate with vendors for equipment selection, design, and construction integration.
· Assist in managing drawing submittal and approval process.
· Assist in managing schedule for engineering and production.
· Develop and/or oversee 2D and 3D structural and pipe drawings.
· Maintain and create facility improvement drawings.
· Create vendor bid packages.
Qualification/Experience:
· 0 - 5 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
· Experience designing and/or building marine vessels.
· Fluency in both English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Comprehension of ABS and USCG rules.
· Must be self-motivated and able to carry out job functions without oversight, but also be able to work as part
of the team.
· Physical ability to participate in shipyard and shipboard surveys involving access to confined spaces, climbing
vertical ladders and scaffolding, minor lifting, and other activities.
