We are searching for an Interventional Radiology Technologist to
perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Obtain pertinent information from patients' chart and document all data within the EHR. Educate patient for exam. Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies. Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices. Assist physicians in performing procedures. Provide functional or technical supervision of radiology aides (imaging assistants), other assigned non-technical employees and other practitioners, as applicable. Provide supervision and instruction to assigned affiliating students. Assist with ongoing quality assurance activities as assigned.

  • Location: Charlton Memorial Hospital - Fall River, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, and attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Vascular Interventional Radiology RT(VI), Cardiac/Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology RT(CI) or (CV) or post-primary certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCVI).
  • Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of Interventional Radiology is required for RTs within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI.
  • Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island is required based on location assignment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.

Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID 19 and provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
