GENERAL FUNCTION:
Travel role within the C-SPAN Finance team. The Travel & Finance Assistant/Coordinator reports to the VP of Finance and coordinates the corporate travel program and assists the A/P, A/R, and Capital Assets functions. Key responsibilities include being the key liaison to all departments for travel, processing travel arrangements, processing expense reports, assisting with A/P and A/R functions as needed, performing Capital Assets data entry, and assisting with asset inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates the corporate travel program. Determines best approach for processing travel arrangements within administrative and financial guidelines. Acts as key liaison to all departments for travel. Stays informed on travel industry and trends.
- Maintains in-house travel systems and back-up systems for travel. Evaluates and recommends additions and changes to travel policies. Trains and orients new employees on travel and credit card guidelines.
- Maintains vendor relationships including travel agency, travel software and hotel, car and airlines program. Negotiates best rates with vendors for group travel.
- Processes all direct travel expenses and ensures travel compliance.
- Analyzes corporate and departmental travel expenses.
- Assists with A/P and A/R functions as required.
- Enters all new capital assets into the accounting software system.
- Assists with capital asset inventory.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS PREFERRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business preferred.
- One year minimum experience required in business or finance.
- Travel and meeting planning experience preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills. Strong emphasis on customer service.
- Proficiency with the use of MS Excel and MS Word required. Knowledge of AX and other accounting packages preferred.
- High integrity individual. Extremely detail oriented.
- Demonstrated self-starter. Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to independently pursue projects to completion.
