OVERVIEW
C Speed is seeking to hire a Consolidated Technological Operations Center (CTOC) Operations Support Personnel to support the DHS Customs & Border Protection Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) program. The TARS program leverages aerostat systems to provide persistent surveillance, detection capabilities, to our U.S. Government customer.
POSITION SUMMARY
The ideal candidate will have direct TARS, TASS, or PSS-T experience as a current Tactical Operation Center (TOC) support person, or prior program support. The candidate will serve as the technical operational point of contact in the TOC. The TOC is the central control element for the scheduling and status reporting of site operations and maintenance efforts. TOC Controllers report operational status and are the focal point for in-process preventive and corrective maintenance actions. Ideal candidates should have experience having performed the following duties and responsibilities:
• Serve as the initial voice/e-mail point of contact for all reach-back requests from the forward sites.
• Support tracking of all program related shipments, logistics, system outages, repairs and flight schedules. Serves as the government’s single point of contact on the operations and status of the entire TARS program.
• Monitor and communicate on all flight status changes
• Track and report changes in site status, maintenance actions, and weather delays to operations manager.
• As needed, disseminate relevant site status information to appropriate personnel.
• Monitor the Daily Flight Logs for anomalies and completeness.
• Contact the forward sites and direct them to update their Flight Log if required.
• Responsible for the preparation of the daily briefing, forwarding status reports to TARS operating locations and customers, and to act as the focal point for TARS operational status.
• Provide the initial check for Problem Report completeness prior to the report being forwarded to the responsible engineer.
• Hand-off all Radar technical issues to the Systems Engineering team for further evaluation and issue resolution after the initial entry is completed.
• Supports the collection of data for special investigations.
• Monitors site corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with Radar Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop troubleshooting procedures and guides.
• Assists conducting Root Cause analyses for TARS system issues and events.
• Work under general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
• Additional duties and related responsibilities will be assigned as required.
• Travel may also be required.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Watch-standing or 24/7 operation center experience
• MS Office Pro; data collection and analysis;
• Knowledge of MS Office Pro, Web based SharePoint, and current IT industry tools and equipment necessary to fulfill responsibilities.
Preferred
• 2 years’ experience monitoring and understanding Aerostat Ground State of Health System (GSHS)
• 2 years’ experience monitoring and understanding Radar performance data
• Detailed aerostat systems knowledge
• Working knowledge of end-to-end TARS or other aerostat system.
• Military-related experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors in System Engineering or relevant field of study required. Related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of 2 years’ experience for each year of education.
• 5 years’ operational experience
