Our Accounting Managers oversee the application of accounting principles used to record financial transactions, reconcile account balances, and analyze financial transactions. Responsibilities also include creating and interpreting financial statements and communicating key operational and financial results.
Responsibilities
- Develops and manages process to prepare financial reports for financial analysis, forecasting, trending, and results analysis using financial report writing software. Prepares consolidated financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for internal and external use and compliance.
- Serves as primary point of contact for coordination of external audit.
- Researches technical accounting issues and implements new accounting standards.
- Serves as subject matter expert on projects which require specialized accounting knowledge.
- Interprets financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions. Makes recommendations to management for problem resolution. Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
- Supports month end close process within a given specialized areas.
- Performs any additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Accounting or closely related equivalent required.
- Minimum four years progressive experience in financial reporting or accounting required.
- Excellent organizational, computer, and communication skills are required.
- PREFERRED
- SQL experience preferred
- CPA, CPA eligible, MBA, or MPA preferred.
