Position Overview:
C2 Systems is currently seeking a Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must possess strong technical aptitude, be comfortable working in high pressure situations, and manage their assigned responsibilities while working on multiple projects concurrently. The candidate will regularly interact with customers and co-workers and must effectively communicate timely and detailed updates. They will be involved in a variety of RF projects and should understand the best practices for any given situation. This position will require approximately 60% field and 40% office work, including occasional/infrequent off-site assignments that could extend up to a week or longer. The field work associated with this position may also include work that must happen during third shift, which is from 8:30 pm to 6:30am.
Responsibilities:
- Design of passive and active Distributed Antenna System (DAS). Optimization, associated sector planning, capacity planning, benchmarking for the design.
- Perform RF testing on commercial 4G LTE, 5G and legacy 3G UMTS/CDMA systems as well as Public Safety/LMR systems using scanners, spectrum analyzers, test transmitters, and other test and measurement equipment.
- Passive Intermodulation (PIM) and Sweep testing and remediation.
- Testing and troubleshooting of Optical fiber using an OTDR and other tools.
- RF propagation modeling and network simulations;
- RF Exposure Studies and FCC compliance verification;
- Intermodulation and Interference Analysis;
- Hands on exposure to system components like antennas, coax, and transmitters and receivers;
- Work on multiple projects in parallel; Prepare written reports for customers and third-party clients.
- Completion of detailed customer ready reports including daily updates is required.
Requirements:
- B.S degree in Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience;
- Basic understanding of RF principles/theory (Signal Path, Power, Frequency, Noise, Modulation, etc.);
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.)
- Effective written/oral communication and organizational skills, fluency in English;
- Ability to quickly grasp, understand, and explain technical topics/procedures, and ask questions when unclear;
- Basic analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skills;
- Self-motivated to learn and advance within a technical field;
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to keep up with various client needs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to/from the workplace;
- Previous experience or familiarity with RF devices and/or systems is highly desirable;
- Familiarity with various wireless technologies (LTE, UMTS, CDMA, etc.) is desirable;
