The Inventory Specialist I ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification and system review. Develops and executes replenishment strategies; conducts physical inventories and cycle counts. Analyzes and, when able, corrects cycle count discrepancies. Audits incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure quality and accuracy. Compiles and documents all transactions for data entry.
What you will do to contribute to the company's success
- Gains familiarity with Inventory concepts, practices and methodologies.
- With guidance, performs basic Inventory duties, including:
- Maintaining inventory cycle count and physical inventory programs,
- Comparing stock numbers and related information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists and related references,
- Checking the quality of incoming equipment, parts and components,
- Entering shipping information into Inventory database management system,
- Performing cycle counts,
- Auditing incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and accuracy,
- Making daily inventory adjustments based on first-hand information,
- Maintaining company asset lists,
- Tracking delivery dates and shipment details of purchase orders,
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Learns and complies with the company’s Inventory standards and policies.
- Assists with special projects as assigned
- Minimal day or night travel
Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- Proficient with MS Office
- 1-2 year’s prior experience
