Our site in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Quality Laboratory Technician to join our Quality team and help support laboratory testing, analyses and continuous improvement. The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for the analytical testing of incoming raw materials, in process samples, and final products including customer returns; recording and analyses of test data; test rationalization and upgrades; writing and maintaining work instructions and procedures; clear, concise and prompt communication of any issues; instrument calibration/verification; internal/external audit compliance; and to also support the Raw Material and Production Engineering teams.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Inspecting and testing in the lab (incoming raw materials, in-process samples, final product, post-polish product; and experimental items) using metrology tools
  • Follow work instructions for methods already in place, report deviations and/or anomalies and assist in updating work instructions and procedures
  • Record all data and results in specified controlled forms and data management systems legibly and correctly to ensure traceability and data defensibility
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean and orderly environment (5S Guidelines)
  • Support laboratory staff by maintaining instrument verification, conducting PM logs and troubleshooting instruments
  • Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps
  • Strive for operational excellence, collaboration, positive team morale, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years previous experience handling test samples in a metrological quality assurance laboratory or Associate Degree in a relevant field of study with 1 years cleanroom or QA lab experience is required
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, etc) with experience working in a QC Lab or other chemistry lab is highly preferred
  • General knowledge of quality systems and laboratory best practices
  • Previous hands on experience working with metrological equipment and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, corrosives, and toxic compounds)
  • Prior experience and dedication to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel - basic data entry and spreadsheet development)

Night Schedule: 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM, 4-days per week
