The mission of Cache Creek Lodge is to facilitate individual rehabilitation and community reintegration of men and women struggling with alcoholism and drug abuse with guidance, education, and compassionate support. Our 40-bed residential substance abuse program utilizes a social model based on the 12-step program and addresses a client's comprehensive needs. Clients commit to a structured schedule in which they receive individual and group counseling, behavioral therapy, financial literacy, employment training, spiritual counsel, temporary housing, recreational activities, and assistance accessing public and community-based health and social services. In addition to residential treatment services, Cache Creek Lodge runs a 25-bed transitional housing program for clients in various stages of recovery.

Currently we are searching for an accountant. They would rarely but occasionally interact with our clients to manage money that they store on site, manage employee relations and HR, and manage client data and our contract specific billing and claims software. Cache Creek Lodge, Inc. is a clinical organization and therefore obeys strict privacy guidelines as designated by HIPAA. Any staff hired, including the accountant, would need to be able to pass a background check and have a functioning knowledge of HIPAA regulations and protections. We are looking to hire a full time employee with all the associated benefits on a regular 8 hour shift M-F 7:00 AM through 4:00 PM.

The position is roughly equal parts human resources management, accounting, and basic data entry/management.

Job Duties include:

  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Managing client on-site cash in a lockbox.
  • Send invoices to our contracted providers like Westcare, Partnership Healthplan of California, and the Sacramento County Office of Education (amongst others).
  • Manage payroll for all 27 employees of Cache Creek Lodge, Inc. through our payroll software (ADP).

Basic Requirements:

  • Able to pass a background check.
  • A G.E.D. or high school diploma.
  • Familiarity with common accounting practices.
  • 1 year experience in the field.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite of products (Excel, Word, etc).
  • Experience with common accounting software like Quickbooks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree (a degree in accounting would be prioritized).
  • 5 years experience in accounting.
  • Experience in HR management
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and procedures.
  • Payroll experience.
  • Experience with Medi-Cal/Medicare billing or experience with CMS-1500 claim forms.
  • Experience with payroll services like ADP.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
