More About the Role:
As a Law Clerk, you will generally act independently and as a team leader on a large DOJ Filter Team and be the primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff. While a part of high-performing team you will also:
- Assign all contractor taskings to other contractor personnel.
- Manage time of your subordinate staff and communicating it to the government poc.
- You will gain invaluable experience utilizing electronic discovery tools and work in databases such as Relativity, conducting searches and identifying factually relevant and privileged data to support assigned investigations.
- Conduct and verify taint and discovery reviews in Relativity for large, criminal cases prosecuted by the Capitol Siege Section of USAO-DC.
- Review batched documents for materials covered by specified privileges, including but not limited to the Executive Privilege, the attorney-client privilege, attorney-client work product, and materials protected by the speech and debate of the constitution.
- Tag documents for attorney-client and/or work product privilege and responsiveness to relevant search warrants.
- Perform complex legal research for the trial staff using Westlaw and Lexis Nexis to determine specified privilege.
- Create indices and summarizes the reviewed documents for analysis. The discovery review would involve reviewing documents, creating databases, coding, creating indices, and summarizing the documents for analysis.
- Act independently and as a team leader on a large project.
- Act as the primary interface with trial attorneys, experts, and other client staff.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Must have Juris Doctorate degree.
- Must have at least two to three years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.
- Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
- Role also requires hands-on familiarity with eDiscovery applications and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.

- eDiscovery certifications
- Prior experience supporting the Federal Government
