Job Description

Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for an OS/Imaging Services Specialist supporting a DHS customer’s wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN) and campus-area (CAN) networks across multiple security domains. We are a seeking an experienced and motivated OS/Imaging Services Specialist to join our team in Burlington, Vermont to manage the Image Lab creates, maintains and releases the Operating systems (OS) images for commercial products consisting of Windows Desktop, Server, iOS, Linux, Chrome and Mac OS.  This role necessarily deals with highly confidential and sensitive information, and the role is expected to confirm to best handling practices.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Seasoned technical individual contributor will work independently with limited supervision and manage projects/processes, coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals. Influences others regarding system design, solutions and procedures when faced with difficult and complex problems. The OS/Imaging Services Specialist will be actively involved with other technical staff through explanation of facts, policies and practices.  Solving difficult and complex problems.  Communicates and influences project/team leaders within and outside of the job function at project/program regarding solution design, processes and/or approaches.

More About the Role:

  • Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for collecting the required software components from various hardware and software vendors, such as drivers and installation packages, for the purpose of creating images for the supported hardware platforms using standard toolsets and processes.
  • Responsible for Application and hardware compatibility testing.
  • Conduct Infrastructure and new feature requirements testing.
  • Develop base image for all OS types, Operating system design, Hardware model integration, GPO settings.
  • Create and maintain custom task sequences and other custom code for front-end image management.
  • Validate images meet the customers’ supplied requirements and internal quality guidelines.
  • Provide desktop management automation through scripting to deliver consistent and predictable services.
  • Ensure that the images load completely and without errors in all supported scenarios (e.g. Vendor staging, DMA, bare metal re-image, USB Flash Drive, USB Drive, Network, etc.)
  • Work closely with the Release Management and Device Management counterparts.
  • Maintain documentation of activities and maintain checklists for the various tasks in respective area of responsibility. For e.g. (Creating images, Testing Images in client environment, Promoting images to production, Retiring images, Component Creation and general management of images, Build books, Run books, Technical road maps)
  • Open trouble tickets and follow up on incidents with the hardware vendors in the event of a problem relating to a supported hardware platform.
  • Ensure that the drivers and UEFI/BIOS levels and configurations are certified
  • Conduct sanity testing of images before they released for QA testing
  • Responsible for developing technical solutions that may require collaboration with internal expertise and deep analysis of the technical system.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment.
  • Experience with supporting tools such as, or similar to VMWare AirWatch, VMWare Workspace ONE, Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft Operations Manager (SCOM), Centrify Identity and Access Management, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Microsoft system center Scorch and Windows 10 Autopilot.
  • Detail and process-oriented
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to communicate solutions effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Relevant DHS focused experience
  • University degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience.
  • Microsoft Certifications is a plus.
  • Experience with creating contract deliverables is preferred.
  • Experience with managing and using Dev Ops concepts.
  • Experience with major cloud providers preferred.
