Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Develop executive-level documents and communications to include briefing materials, PowerPoint presentations, issue/decision/point papers, manuals, marketing materials, reports, annual reviews, and strategic plans. 
  • Create comprehensive communications and marketing plans and materials (i.e SOP, Wiki pages, SharePoint site updates, Flyers, Quick Reference Guides, command email content) and develop implementation strategies.
  • Create, edit and format information for various media channels to include printed materials, emails, websites, and other electronic access points.
  • Assist with innovative marketing, awareness; expand social research and ability to provide online “how-to” training videos to the workforce.
  • Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and key external role-players.
  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with SEA 00A Leadership.
  • Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the NAVSEA’s policies, principles and strategies, and to keep up-to-date with relevant developments.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy that includes media outreach and social media content creation.
  • Assist with the branding, designing and drafting briefing materials and comms and marketing materials to describe, explain and promote command initiatives.
  • Create Wiki pages to streamline, simplify and centralize how communication is stored and shared.

  • Reporting -  Annual and Semi-Annual COMNAVSEA Reports; field reports
  • Marketing -  Compliance Program, Online Training Communications, Communication Plans for other Command Initiatives, Scripts, Wiki Pages, iNAVSEA, iNFUSION, User Guides/Manuals
  • Briefing Facilitation – SEA 00A Programs, training sessions
  • Content Management – Content Development/Maintenance for SharePoint

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years-experience in communications strategy development
  • Proven experience as communications specialist
  • Experience in copywriting and editing
  • Mastery written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Proven social media and networking expertise.

  • Ability to work under pressure due to tight deadlines and increased workload
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
