The Technical Writer will work on client site at Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC-A) New Orleans site, to research, organize, write, edit, format, assemble, and produce technical data, for an HIV Management System Project (HIVM). The project is within the Defense Health Readiness Engineering portfolio.
The project is within CACI's Healthcare Delivery Systems portfolio.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Produce and update a wide range of engineering and technical documentation to ensure HIVM Products are accurately and appropriately documented in accordance with program requirements.
Conducts research on HIVM subject matter, including interviewing and observing subject matter experts, researching journals, on-line sources, and other substantive source material to write technical materials.
Provide assessment of training requirements, as well as aid in the development of requisite training materials and documentation; identify and evaluate training alternatives.Create, implement, and update process improvement practices and policies.
Develop and employ a variety of training approaches including traditional classroom, programmed learning, hands-on training and simulators, and video, audio, and computer-based training.
Provide support and technical expertise for administering and preparing documentation for Systems Engineering IPT, and Data Management Interoperability Group and any supporting working groups.
Ability to plan and organize work and interact with technical and non-technical personnel translating user requirements into responsive applications.
Provide technical support for conferences, review task related documents, and develop task related technical papers.
Support development of programmatic documentation and briefing materials in support of program reviews and participate in program reviews.
Collaborates with engineering team to ensure accuracy of technical documentation and training materials.
Produce written technical materials including user guides, technical manuals, and training materials to support customer project requirements.
Develop, write, and edit information security related documents and other customer deliverables/documents.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of system requirements and functions for each assigned project.
Participate in the establishment of guidelines and standards for text and graphics.
Coordinate ancillary services and interdepartmental activities required for publication, preparation, and delivery.
Serve as the focal point for problems and inquiries related to the technicality of assigned projects.
Coordinate the quality control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each publication, including in-process and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification.
Collaborates with engineering team to ensure accuracy of technical documentation, while maintaining an in-depth understanding of system requirements and functions for each assigned project. Assist with the development of test plans for testing all functionality and data integrity of proprietary applications. Provide estimates for the duration of test assignments.
Develop, design, execute, document, and maintain test plans and procedures for manual testing.
Review user requirements, specifications, maintain test matrices and reported bugs.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Five (5) years of experience in Systems Analysis, Medical Systems, Information Assurance, Web Development, or Engineering Management to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, System/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements.
Three (3) years of technical experience in support of information assurance/network protection or virtualization projects. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
Bachelor's Degree is preferred
5 years of technical writing experience
Work experience with a content manager
Experience with mobile platforms (any development experience a plus)
Hands on experience with MS Office and PDFs
Basic technical knowledge of HTML and web publishing
Excellent writing skills in English
Attention to detail
Good organizational and time-management skills
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active Secret clearance
