What are the responsibilities and job description for the Windows Engineer position at CACI?
CACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our TSA IT Management, Performance Analysis, and Collaborative Technologies (IMPACT) team in the National Capital Region (NCR) and throughout the United States. CACI provides a variety of IT services through IMPACT including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services. CACI supports TSA in both classified and unclassified IT operational environments increasing availability and security for a variety of applications and systems. IMPACT services will integrate with the broader DHS mission and enhance existing Department-wide IT capabilities.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Primary responsibilities include providing Tier 3 and Engineering support of an infrastructure that supports multiple Microsoft based networks spanning multiple security enclaves. This includes a high number of domain controllers and supporting services like federation (ADFS), Group Policies, working with an RBAC model, implementing and modifying complex PowerShell scripts, identifying inefficiencies and providing solutions. The candidate will be working with a large team of diverse inter-disciplined engineers, as well as various other external entities on implementations and integration of new and existing projects as needed. Candidate should be well versed in the foundations that make up a large Mission IT network 24x7x365 both CONUS and OCONUS.

- Performs complex systems development and design work that may include multi-forest, federation, integration with other security enclaves
- Participates in engineering upgrades and enhancements
- Develops and conducts functional tests to ensure systems meet requirements
- Documents Security Tests/requirements on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation evaluations (STIGS) and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems with both short-term workarounds and long-term solutions. Responds to escalated service desk/team requests
- Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers
- Quickly research and become knowledge in relevant technology as assigned
- Communicates effectively (in oral and written form) with a variety of individuals work well within small and large team environments
- Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
- Participates in special projects as assigned
Candidates should have a firm knowledge/understanding of:
- Experience with Office 365 and other cloud-based technologies
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
- Windows 2008R2, 2012R2 and 2016
- Understanding routing and switching on a variety of platforms including Cisco switches, Juniper Routers and F5 load balancers
- Active Directory Maintenance (65,000+ user environment)
- Active Directory Troubleshooting (object backup/restore, disaster recovery)
- Active Directory Multi Forest Management within Trusts
- Domain Consolidation and Domain Migration
- Active Directory Federation Services
- Group Policy Management, Troubleshooting, Design
- DNS, DHCP, DFS, LDAP, RBAC, PKI
- PowerShell
- Configuration management and control of production application, systems, infrastructure and services
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- US Citizenship required
- Bachelor’s degree, and 5-8 years of relevant experience
- An active DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment
- Experience with large-scale, complex environments
- Experience working in an Azure cloud environment
- Ability to learn new concepts very quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality – The environment is highly dynamic.
- Ability to organize and plan work independently
- MTA, MCSA, and/or MVP certifications a plus
- High level of performance with strong multitasking abilities
- Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Relevant DHS focused experience
- Active DoD clearance preferred, but not required
- Experience with virtualization and clustering primarily in Microsoft Hyper-V environment (DELL hardware)
- SCCM or System Center knowledge
- ITIL v4 certification preferred
