We are currently looking for a passionate purchasing professional to become our next Buyer who embody our values and is looking to join America’s leader in Hispanic perishables. The Buyer is responsible for purchasing products, expediting orders and returns to maintain effective inventory levels. The Buyer will execute company and departmental strategies to sustain the manufacturing operations for Cacique. The Buyer will collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Research & Development, Finance and all Operations departments to source products and services required for manufacturing at Cacique. The Buyer actively supports the strategic goals of Cacique’s procurement team.

DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support the strategic direction for the department, as well as convey and contribute to the tactical execution both at headquarters and the facilities.
- Execute procurement strategy to reduce transaction costs, minimize inventory levels.
- Monitor and report on supplier performance using defined KPI measurements in support of periodic business reviews.
- Identify and recommend new supply opportunities and supplier capabilities to maintain Cacique’s competitive advantage and supply continuity.
- Support Cacique cost-savings activities and initiatives.
- Facilitate annual financial planning process, including recommending standard cost and forecast updates.
- Assist in supply continuity planning processes and risk-based assessments.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of assigned product and packaging categories including market trends, futures markets and related pricing and economic conditions.
- Confirm inventory levels, issue purchase orders, maintain records and reports, evaluate supplier performance, research and resolve operational and invoicing issues in a timely manner, expedite order fulfillment when necessary.
- Order management of assigned purchasing categories, including monitoring of volume and price commitments, renewal strategy, and compliance with Terms and Conditions.
- Supports material tracking and traceability objectives.
- Direct involvement and coordination of day-to-day interaction between the supply-base, various facility and HQ teams including Warehousing, Finance, Operations, Planning & Scheduling, Quality and Research & Development.
- Contributor and promoter of Cacique culture.
- Ability to collaborate cross functionally with all levels of the organization, including Executives, Department Directors and Managers.
Required Skills
Position Requirements:
- Negotiation skills
- Hands on Strategic Sourcing and Procurement
- Demonstrated knowledge in demand planning and delivery
- CPSM or C.P.M certification preferred
- APICS certification preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing and supply chain.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong MS Office skills required with the emphasis on Excel.
- Knowledge and experience using MS Dynamics NAV 2015 or other comparable MRP/ERP systems preferred.

Required Experience

- BS/BA degree preferred. Business or related field preferred.
Salary : $69,000 - $87,400
