What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Worker position at Cadence Care Network?
Respite Worker will provide short term temporary relief to the caregiver of eligible individuals with severe mental health challenges or other special needs. The goal of such services is to provide relief that will allow youth to remain in their current living arrangement.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Mentor young people and model skills that will help them successfully minimize the negative impact of behavioral health issues.
- Engage clients through youth-friendly, culturally-appropriate, and youth-empowerment approaches.
- Participate in the implementation of tailored supports and services to be individualized, developmentally-appropriate, appealing, non-stigmatizing, trauma-informed, and relevant to each young person.
- Teach and reinforce social, daily-living, and community functioning skills as relevant to a young person through role play skill development and practice.
- Assist in Prevention Planning to minimize a young person’s engagement in high risk behaviors or situations – and perform crisis interventions as situations arise.
Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that meets the needs individuals served.
- Valid driver license and provision of transportation, insurance and the ability to use your car for work.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
