What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deburr Operator/Entry Level Machinist position at CAE Inc.?
The Deburring Operator is responsible for removing sharp edges remaining after the machining process, along with performing drilling, countersinking, tapping, polishing, tumbling, and hand or machine deburring of complex components using a wide range of tools, inspection devices, and equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform the Deburring functions of parts.
- Using the drill-press to polish, countersink and wire brush parts when needed.
- Tap or chase threaded holes when required.
- Support and perform rework duties as needed
- Accurately, efficiently, and safely perform the job functions of the department
- Support other duties as assigned
- Machinist Assistant as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Ability to read and understand process instructions
- Ability to measure dimensional areas for deburring per instructions.
- Physically able to handle light to medium weight (up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to handle light to medium items repetitively, without damage to the component or its finish.
- Job can require extensive periods of sitting while performing tasks.
- Must have good interpersonal skills working with people in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform work assignments with little or no supervision.
- Must have ability to interpret and rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Must have the ability to read blue prints, work orders and use a computer.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
- Must be committed to quality and customer focused
- Aerospace experience preferred but not required
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
- Incumbent must be eligible for DOD Personal Security Clearance.

- Use hands to finger, handle or feel over 2/3 of the time.
- Talk or hear 1/3 to 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds over 2/3 of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds 1/3 to none of the time.
