Role and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of reference solutions to maximize efficiency and create a consistent simulation environment
  • Support the technical proposal efforts concerning computational, networking as well as location of software
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the technical roadmap(s) as well as the standard reference architectures
  • Support of R&D project and innovation initiatives
  • Assist in the design and implementation of the most efficient solution in accordance with defined requirements
  • Basic understanding of configuration management systems and large-scale software development
  • Assist application engineers as required
  • Coordinate and review technical/operational deliverables prior to submission
  • Provide guidance to junior team members
  • Coordinate architectures with Technical Leaders, Technical Authorities, as well as Management across CAE USA
  • Interface with CAE’s development and R&D teams concerning future architectures and roadmaps

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • B S degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in training simulation or other technical engineering field
  • Ability to perform requirements analysis and translate customer high level requirements or inputs into system and derived requirements, create systems solutions, and conceptual designs
  • Experience applying systems engineering on small, medium, large, complex programs in, requirements analysis/management, interface management, system architecture definition, integration/verification/validation planning and execution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. All communications must be in English.
  • Analytical math skills necessary to complete the required tasks.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Tools/Skills

  • Working knowledge of C/C , C#, Java, Python
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows as well as Unix based development environments including MS Visual Studio and .NET
  • Cybersecurity related certification (Security , CISSP) preferred
  • IT related experience (VMware, Cisco, Active Directory) a plus
  • Networking, PC architecture, Network Protocols (OSI, TCP, UDP, Serial, etc.), Interoperation, distributed SW
  • Direct knowledge with industry system and software standards e.g. MIL, IEEE or IEC

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Must be able to sit down for long lengths of time.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to travel CONUS and to International sites
  • Should be familiar with and be able to operate simulation training devices such as: full flight motion devices, maintenance training devices, entertainment devices and fixed base training devices.
  • Should be familiar with and able to support Engineering or Operations staff on any type and sub-component of training devices.
  • Must be willing to work overtime
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Moderate to high levels of stress, associated with technical, schedule, and customer issues are to be expected with this position. Extended work hours and possible 2nd and 3rd shift assignments are likely to be encountered.
