What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Production Test position at CAES?
Overview
We are seeking a Production Control Manager to manage all production and support functions for the assigned value streams - including product assembly and test manufacturing engineering, field service engineering and support, and the transition of new products to manufacturing. The majority of the product lines supported will be antenna based.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Assemblers, Operators and/or RF Microwave Test Technicians and manages product output and quality (the work of this team includes tuning modules, CCAs and subsystems)
- Conduct daily cell meetings to review output, goals, yield and production related issues
- Communicate results of daily cell meetings to management at daily Value Stream meetings
- Help to set and communicate daily output goals for the team and remove roadblocks that are affecting output and/or quality
- Create weekly reports that include output and yield for each product - use rework and yield data to analyze trends and report unfavorable trends to management
- Place an extreme importance on quality including leading your team in the areas of strictly following documented procedures, double-checking work and error-proofing processes
- Conducts process confirmations to ensure standard work processes are being followed
- Identify and address non-compliance, looking for continuous improvement opportunities
- Ensure all operational processes are carried out in accordance with quality systems and procedures
- Ensure 5S practices are adhered to and sustained within work areas
- Ensures that Safety, Health and Environmental compliance is included as part of everyday activities
- Participates in staff selection, performance management (including evaluation and discipline), coaching training and employee development, while ensuring compliance to legal and company requirements
- Interface with engineering, quality, planning and other support groups to get the support and assistance needed to resolve issues that are affecting quality and/or deliveries
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or accredited GED
- 8 years of experience in a lead, supervisor or management role with manufacturing or electronics
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience supervising technical personnel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate ideas and technical/production issues to engineering and management
- Ability to respond to changing situations
- Attention to detail
- Previous work in a technical environment
- Technical AS Degree
- Experience with RF Microwave manufacturing
- Project experience with Lean or Six Sigma principles and tools
