Overview
The Production Planner (PP) is a detail oriented, self-motivated, result driven individual who strives to grow and develop within the Planning organization. The PP is responsible for developing strong relationships with various departments to include but not limited to Business Areas, Finance, Program Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Export Compliance, and Sales. This individual must be focused on customer needs and be willing to go above and beyond to ensure on time delivery for both internal and external customers. The PP possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. Within a fast paced environment, the PP should be able to multi-task, be flexible to changing priorities while maintaining a positive attitude. This individual will be familiar with Frontgrade’s products and flows, requirements, be a team player, and engage in forward looking behaviors. This individual must possess a can do attitude to include motivation, innovation, and problem solving, as well as a desire to improve current practices and procedures. The PP should understand the mission, vision, and goals of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules
- Point of Contact within the planning department for shop schedules, floor execution, and customer impacts for their planning family.
- Advises management as required on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems or concerns.
- Assign work order starts as required for new assembly lot starts.
- Release work order load into the production line in a balanced manner to meet production schedules
- Coordinate activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, engineering, and finance as needed to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
- Ensure WIP management and on time delivery through proactive communication across multiple functions.
- Respond to requests for material availability, expedites and push outs, as well as other requests to meet customer needs.
- Transact ERP system to include: scheduling, work order and sales order date management, ship list accuracy, and system setup as needed.
- Communicate with material center and procurement teams to ensure on time delivery of outside service processing and advise use of expedite fees to meet schedules.
- Communicate with Export Compliance and Sales on export delays and material available to ship.
- Monitor potential material shortages, and advise on lead time accuracy, and safety stock levels.
- Participate and engage in daily Tier stand up meetings.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support product specific requirements.
- Back-up others within the Planning organization as needed.
- Communicate material shortages and needs with procurement to ensure availability
- Participate and engage in Continuous Improvement projects
- Coordinate new product builds to ensure
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent
- Works well under limited supervision
- Ability to handle problems of varying complexity
- Ability to develop new or improve existing planning processes for efficiency
- Ability to comprehend the Mil-Prf TCI requirements to ensure proper planning for lot window opening
Preferred:
- 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent
- Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft Office™ products - Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, Project.
- Working understanding of ERP System
Salary Range: $55,530 - $92,862 annually.
Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate
