Job Description
Barista responsibilities include educating customers on Cafe Elite food and beverage menus, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and the aptitude to understand how brewing equipment operates. You should also be able to work various shifts.
Ultimately, youll ensure an excellent and elite experience for our guests.
Essential Functions:
Greeting customers as they enter
Sharing updates on menus and answering customer questions regarding ingredients
Taking orders while paying attention to details (e.g., preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
Perform the day-to-day operations of the coffee stand; inclusive of employee duties posted within stand for shift/role
Execute food and beverage preparation and proper use of coffee equipment per company training. Report any maintenance needs.
Keep the bar area clean
Maintain quality control of products while on shift and in exchange with customers
Comply with health and safety regulations
Cash handling and operation of a POS system
Accurately record timecard, inclusive of breaks
Track supplies and report shortages in adherence to stand/company protocol
Complete financial reporting per shift in adherence to stand/company protocol
Work alone or with others while delivering quality, consistency to customers
Solving challenges faced by customers via excellent customer service
Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and ensure outstanding customer experience
Increase sales and customer count via Cafe Elite performance objectives
Communicate regularly with stand manager
Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Adhere to all company policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook
Other Functions:
Meetings at the corporate office may occur, participation is expected
Develop content for social media and training when requested, presence on camera not required
Actively recruit talent to the Employer Brand
Participate with respect to co-workers and management across company platforms
Set performance goals and meet performance objectives
Requirements:
Must be able to work on your feet and stand for long periods of time.
Communication: ability to communicate with confidence, transparency and integrity
Multitasking: address multiple issues each day. This may require the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to prioritize timely assignments.
Positive attitude: a positive and pleasant attitude may help general managers earn respect and cooperation from their employees and clients. A good attitude can also boost workplace morale and satisfaction.
Listening: ability to listen and follow instructions, take critical feedback as necessary
Technical: must possess basic computer skills to perform their job and have aptitude for leveraging technology in the workplace
Highschool diploma or GED
