Job Overview: Someone in the role of Test Developer II has demonstrated strong item writing and reviewing skills, grade/grade-band lead skills, and may have multiple years as a teaching professional. At this stage, staff can begin taking on tasks with more responsibility involving team leadership (TL), content focus (IC), or content development management (IDM). Job Responsibilities: Uses state item specifications to write effective items for different projects. Works under the direction of a project content lead to lead a grade level item pool development for a state Leads group reviews and independently conducts preliminary, content review 1, and may begin to conduct senior reviews for all projects. Leads educator content review meetings, rubric validation meetings, range finding meetings, and data review meetings Participates in standard setting meetings as the content expert Leads item development for grade level or grade band, independently Leads item development for content area, with supervision Writes blueprints and translates them into an item pool development plan, with supervision Has increasingly independent client interactions Leads group reviews and independently conducts preliminary, content review 1, and may begin to conduct senior reviews for all projects. Leads educator content review meetings, rubric validation meetings, range finding meetings, and data review meetings Participates in standard setting meetings as the content expert Leads item development for grade level or grade band, independently Leads item development for content area, with supervision Manages schedules and oversee quality of content development for a team of Test Developers Manages item development for all content areas on small projects Writes blueprints and translates them into an item pool development plan, with supervision Has increasingly independent client interactions Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field 5-8 years’ experience or a Master’s degree 1-4 years’ experience Minimum of 4 years’ experience teaching science and/or developing content in an Educational Assessment environment Strong knowledge and experience with the U.S. Education and Education Assessment is required Analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to identify problems and conceptualize solutions Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to multi-task Skilled at collaboration Required travel for this position ranges from 1 week to 6 weeks per year Candidates should be able to travel from 2-5 days at a time Why Work With Us?
