CAI is seeking a AWS Data Engineer. This is a HYBRID opportunity. Our client is based in Clearwater, FL. This position is 95% remote with as needed office visits. Candidates must have Florida state residency. This is a 6-month Contract to Hire position.
Business Technology Services kicked off a project, with an AWS Partner, to build a data warehouse in AWS. BTS is looking for an individual to work with the current BI team and vendor to assist with building out the data warehouse in AWS and support the end product. We are looking for someone that likes to work closely and share knowledge with their team members. One of the responsibilities of the contractor will be to assist the BI team to transition to using AWS technologies. The contract position will be long-term. The contractor will be working with sensitive data (training will be provided).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Pilot Data: Use existing/available data files
- Secure Platform: Leverage FedRAMP standards within AWS GovCloud
- Data View: Separate PII from non-PII data
- Secure Access: Two factor authentication for access to PII data.
- Data Handling: (NIST/HIPAA) best practices: SSL - security for Data in transition, Encrypted data at rest in Data Lake and Data Warehouse
- Toolset: Use of open source and AWS tools
- Resources: Existing team with discrete internal or external supplement as required
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- 5 years of overall software development experience
- 3 years of experience in software development with Python, including Boto3 and Pandas
- 3 years of database development experience with relational databases, SQL, stored procedures
- 2 years of hands-on data engineering on AWS, including S3 (storage, versioning, permissions, events), Glue (catalogs, crawlers, connections, jobs, dev endpoints), DynamoDB, Athena, CloudWatch, SNS, Lambda functions, Lambda layers, RDS, Aurora, KMS, Secrets Manager, IAM Roles and Policies, VPC and subnets, QuickSight, API Gateway, AWS CLI
- 1 years of experience with Terraform or another IaC (Infrastructure as Code) automation tool
- 2 years of hands-on data engineering on AWS, including DMS (Database Migration Service), Spark/PySpark with Glue and EMR
- 2 years of hands-on experience with Kinesis Streams or Kafka, Kinesis Firehose
- 2 years of hands-on experience with RedShift, RedShift Spectrum or Snowflake
- Previous Banking experience specifically in Compliance area
- Familiar with ITIL concepts and tools, e.g., ServiceNow
- Familiar with source code management tools, e.g., Git, TFS, Bitbucket
- Experience on API support - MuleSoft, Web Services, WCF, SOAP, Web API
- Experience working with and supporting interfaces for a data warehouse
- Familiar with Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence
