What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Room Attendant position at CAID Industries?

SUMMARY & SCOPE: Help production run smoothly and efficiently by having CAID supplies, tools and PPE organized and available. Having an adequate supply of all supplies in working order to supply to various production/industry/mining teams as needed
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Keep tool room(s) neat, clean, and organized.
- Periodically reviews tool room to look for items that are out of date or no longer used. Removes those items from the tool room through the proper disposal method with the consent of shop supervisor, QC manager or safety manager
- Supply production staff with consumables and tools.
- Check out and keep track of tools/supplies/PPE
- Seek the return of tools before new ones are given out
- Keep a record of consumables use by production staff
- Maintain stock of supplies, tools and parts as needed
- Keep track of purchase orders and follow up with vendors as needed
- Record price, PO#, and date received on supplies as they come in
- Prepare new weld leads, ground cables, hoses etc.
- Sharpen drill bits
- Keep welding wire stocked in tool room
- Source new tools and supplies when requested by management
- Order stock supplies and parts through purchasing department. Discuss any unusual requests or repairs with shop supervisor, QC manager or maintenance department
- Perform tool repairs according to the following:
- Inspect tools for damage when returned. Fix or tag tool and send to maintenance if repair is difficult or you have not been trained on the specific repair
- Repair minor problems with tools (mainly small angle grinders & drill motors), welding torches/guns, hoses, cables etc.
- Help maintenance department repair other equipment when shorthanded as requested and so as not to interrupt other higher priority tasks
- Maintain stock of supplies on field truck(s)
- Collect forklift keys at end of each workday
- Keep up to date on current supplies and their purpose
- Keep up to date on supply quantities needed and demands due to work variations
- Willing to perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· 1-3 years related experience in inventory control
· Basic knowledge of hand tools and the ability to troubleshoot/repair as needed
- Develop and maintain computer skills including Word and Excel
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.
