What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser/Food Runner position at Cajun Boil Seafood Restaurant?
Bussers help maintain restaurant operations by setting and clearing tables and maintaining a high level of cleanliness within the dining room. Bussers also contribute to customer service by filling water glasses at the table, supplying new utensils as requested, and answering customer questions.
This role requires excellent time management skills as well as the ability to set priorities and quickly respond to changing needs within the dining room. Because a restaurant’s dining room can be a high-pressure environment, bussers should also be able to handle stress while delivering a high level of service.

Responsibilities for Busser
- Clear tables of dishware and napkins after meals, and return them to the kitchen
- Prepare coffee, tea, and ice water for customers
- Keep floors and chairs near dining tables clean by sweeping and mopping
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of glassware, silverware, and dishware
- Clean, sanitize, and reset tables after meals
- Refill salt, pepper, and other condiments at tables
- Assist servers with food delivery
- Keep designated service stations clean and well stocked
Qualifications for Busser
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Restaurant experience preferred
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a food handler certification card
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
Starting out at $5/hr base pay but the servers tip out the busser and expo so at the minimum, you’ll be making $15/hr or more. Looking for highly energetic people who can help turn over tables quickly and efficiently. At this moment we are looking for a busser for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. As we continue to grow and prosper as a company, we might expand our need for a busser and more hours may become available, but at this time, we are looking at fri, sat, and sun. Thank you!
