What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Calamar?
Calamar is currently searching for qualified applicants for the position of Site Superintendent in the Nashville, TN area.
The Site Superintendent position will help oversee construction projects on-site in order to achieve financial, time frame and quality goals, as well as client satisfaction without incurring safety infractions. When necessary, perform a variety of commercial construction-related tasks more for the purpose of project completion. Required to be familiar and able to read blueprints. May operate hand and/or power tools of all types, lift/hoist equipment, and vehicles. Oversee daily site maintenance. Computer skills helpful. May come in contact with hazardous materials.
Position Requirements:
- Must be proficient in the development of construction projects, including;
- Development of schedules, budgets, and planning documentation.
- Implement value engineering techniques to exceed project expectations.
- Facilitate the flow of project information between teams.
- Lead project walk-through and inspections.
- Able to create actions plans to solve issues during construction.
- Review of project documentation to assure the project is following specifications.
- Championing of site safety training and precautions.
- Planning of flow of required job materials to ensure project tasks are handled in a timely fashion.
- Act as a point of contact for updates on project timeline and completed processes.
Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees in Construction preferred
- OSHA 30 certification highly preferred.
- 10 years’ experience in commercial construction; 5 years’ experience in Superintendent role in commercial construction.
- Experience leading hotel and apartment construction highly preferred.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook required; experience using ProCore preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License; local travel required
