What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Human Resources position at Calamar?
Calamar seeks an ambitious and business-minded professional to lead its Human Resources and Organizational Development department. With our proprietary Connect 55 program, we need a thriving team to revolutionize how senior citizens live. We do not provide clinical or senior health services. Our talented team is focused on development, construction, investments, and community management that make a significant impact in the communities we serve.
You will work out of our Wheatfield NY office with occasional travel to our 33 communities across the Midwest and Northeast.
One of our top priorities for this year is building the infrastructure to hire, develop, and support our regional managers and team members. Experience with assessments, leadership and employee development, and talent acquisition is essential. Developing and promoting our employee shareholder program is also a top priority.
In addition, you will have responsibility for:
* Coaching managers to use best people-practices to achieve their goals
* Employee engagement and internal communication
* Talent acquisition and onboarding
* Performance management
* Learning and development
* Total rewards
* Compliance and HR Administration
Our head of HR reports to the CEO and is an influential member of the executive team. A high level of collaboration with our internal legal counsel, CFO, and functional leaders is expected.
In our roll-up-your-sleeves-and-work environment, there are administrative responsibilities associated with this job. You will also manage a small but eager HR team.
The ideal candidate will be an aggressive problem-solver who is very comfortable and skilled at having direct conversations. The ability to build relationships, influence, and coach at every level is critical.
We’d love a candidate with an MBA. In addition, several years of experience in business and HR, especially in a multi-state/location or publicly held company would be beneficial. We have high standards. So, a perfectionist’s eye and systems-thinking is a must.
In return, we offer competitive pay, exceptional benefits, and the opportunity to implement best-in-class people practices while making a difference for our senior living residents.
