Position Summary:
The Desktop Architect reports directly to a Support Center Manager and is primarily responsible for the end user experience of interacting with Information Systems through managed endpoints. These endpoints could be workstations, laptops, virtual machines, thin clients, mobile devices, and other form factors.
The Desktop Architect owns the vision and strategy around the deployment, management, security, support and the standardization of these devices. Additionally, the Desktop Architect will own the vision and strategy around management platforms used to deploy and manage the endpoints including the base image, standard software applications, and elective software applications. All of this would be done leveraging enterprise technologies such as Microsoft Windows, Citrix, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and Chrome OS among others.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in computer/information sciences from an accredited college
7 years experience in one or more specific skill set or business area
6 years of experience with Microsoft Windows 7.
6 years supporting client end devices and peripherals.
Ivanti Experience
Healthcare experience a big plus (Epic)
Previous experience supporting organizations with at least 1,000 desktop/laptops/tablet/mobile devices or similar technologies.
In addition to technical skills and knowledge in particular technologies, candidates will need to have proficiency in the soft skills.
Travel approximately 10%, in support of other off site healthcare locations
Fulfill the requirements of on-call rotations.
Ability to work well with customers in person and by phone
