Job Summary:
Calcmatics is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to spearhead the successful delivery of projects within the Department of Interior's DSC Information Management (IM) division. The IT Project Manager will oversee all facets of project execution, including requirements gathering, comprehensive project planning, systems testing, and continuous communication of project status. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects align with client objectives and are delivered efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Management: Develop and manage detailed project plans, incorporating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), task dependencies, schedules, and critical paths. Collaborate closely with DSC IM team members to define tasks, estimate timelines, track progress, and ensure the project schedule is maintained and optimized.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders, including Product Owners, Agile teams, and IM team members, ensuring alignment on project goals, scope, and deliverables. Foster strong relationships to drive project success.
- Agile Project Leadership: Lead Agile development teams with a focus on delivering iterative, high-quality solutions. Facilitate sprint meetings, manage system roadmaps, and oversee project plans, product, and release backlogs. Work with the Product Owner to translate high-level requirements into actionable user stories, with clear acceptance criteria.
- Requirements Gathering: Lead workshops and sessions to gather comprehensive requirements and facilitate prototyping. Document requirements in a format consistent with the chosen project management methodology, ensuring clarity and alignment across the team.
- Systems Analysis & Design: Conduct in-depth systems analysis and design, proposing alternatives for new applications, system enhancements, and integration projects. Support the development of data models, interface mapping, and execute thorough systems testing to ensure quality and functionality.
- Delivery Management: Oversee project execution, ensuring all project goals are met within the agreed timelines and budget. Address any challenges proactively to keep the project on track.
- Project Reporting: Provide regular, detailed updates on project status to both technical teams and senior management. Ensure transparency and keep all stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and issues.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required.
- Certifications: PMP certification is mandatory.
- Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- At least 5 years of experience leading Agile development teams, demonstrating strong leadership and team management skills.
- 5 years of experience in requirements gathering, including workshop facilitation and documentation, ensuring clear and actionable project requirements.
- 5 years of experience in systems analysis, design, testing, and integration, with a deep understanding of IT systems and their lifecycle.
- Proficiency in MS Project is preferred, along with familiarity with other project management and collaboration tools.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
