Position Function: Reporting to the Inventory Planning and Replenishment Supervisor of Caldic Canada Inc., the individual will be responsible to review the inventory levels of specific products and create and release purchase orders to suppliers to meet customer needs.
Scope: The Replenishment Specialist will utilize the MRP system within AX to review, plan and execute purchase orders to ensure item min/max levels are adhered to for high turn inventory and place purchase orders for customer and production needs as required. This position requires a high level of coordination within the Replenishment Team and internal departments such as Customer Care, Production and Logistics to ensure replenishment activities consistently meet customer needs across all regions.
Major Tasks and Duties:
- Must be familiar with processes and procedures for the replenishment of inventory to meet inventory and customer service goals including high order fill rates, high inventory turns and an overall low days of inventory for the company.
- Execute MRP activities within AX for assigned items and vendors and determine items and quantities required to be reordered.
- Execute purchase orders to vendors, coordinate logistics requirements and monitor the status of PO’s to ensure on time arrival.
- Support rush requests to meet customer requirements.
- Communicate confirmed purchase orders for delivery with logistics carriers, validating and processing related documentation.
- Manage issues and exceptions with vendors and logistics service providers such as delivery discrepancies, damages, demurrage and other surcharges, pricing discrepancies, etc.
- Process receipts for third party warehouses and B2B drop shipments.
- Maintain MRP data as business and supplier changes occur, regularly evaluate inventory min/max settings to ensure alignment with business needs and execute updates for floor stocking agreements with customers
- Submit change controls as required to maintain system master data.
- Scan, file and submit matched purchase order, order confirmation and invoice to accounting for payment.
- Assist with investigation and support in customer complaints and supplier NCR’s. Help to provide solutions to eliminate the potential for future
- Enter and maintain purchase contracts in the Contract Management System as required.
- Support Buyers to maintain professional relationships with suppliers/vendors and third party logistics carriers
- Complete all other duties as assigned by the Inventory Planning and Replenishment Supervisor
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP’s and HACCP requirements
- Other duties as required
Knowledge/Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Planning or working towards SCM designation
- Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory planning, additional logistics experience an asset
- MRP Microsoft AX experience a definite asset
- Must have advanced computer skills (Excel, Outlook)
- Must have effective Customer Service and interpersonal Skills
- Must have strong organization skills
- Must have strong communication (verbal and written) skills
