Service Center Glass - Minneapolis Job Summary Glass Apprentice Technicians will learn to repair and replace cracked, chipped, or damaged car windows and windshields while in the field. Working alongside a Mentor, you will gain an understanding of standards and quality processes per Caliber guidelines. This is an entry level position and will be a gateway to the next level through coaching, training, and experience. Role and Responsibilities Customer service focused, ability to develop relationships and deliver operational consistency Willingness to learn and multi-task in a fast- paced automotive environment Complete assigned training and certifications, to include continuing education courses Learn replacement procedures of automotive glass Perform repairs on chipped windshields Learn how to perform a quality pre and post inspection with customer May utilize various tools and diagnostic equipment Complete documentation of repair orders on mobile device Learn how to remove and install trim panels & interior parts without damaging Assist mentor technicians in day-to-day job duties Check in parts and communicate scheduling with urgency Effectively prioritize and manage your time to complete assigned tasks Work will be performed outdoors and in shop environments Clean vehicle of glass debris and/or glass that may be a result of the glass being damaged by impact or repair process, including any excess materials on visible surfaces Perform a final inspection with the customer and get customer’s signature on all paperwork as necessary Complete all administrative duties and payment collection upon completion of job Accountable for assigned inventory (including vehicles, mobile devices, tools, other equipment provided) Complete all administrative duties and payment collection upon completion of job Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications, Education & Experience Desire to learn a skilled trade High school diploma or tech school graduate Automotive repair experience preferred but not required Excellent customer service and communication skills Knowledge and ability to use computers, mobile devices, and related technology efficiently Self -motivated, positive attitude, with a customer focused vision Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check Ability to pass a background check Must be able to lift 60 pounds independently Travel may be required for continuing education and certification training Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping Requires frequent driving of company and customer vehicles Extensive travel within assigned area is expected May have exposure to fumes, dust, and chemicals Ability to work in a shop or mobile environment during inclement weather Required to wear PPE to include but not limited to facial covering, eye protection, gloves About Caliber Founded in 1997, the Caliber portfolio of brands has grown to more than 1,600 centers nationwide and features a full range of complementary automotive services, including Caliber Collision, one of the nation's largest auto collision repair providers across more than 40 states and Caliber Auto Glass for glass repair and replacement.
