Responsibilities

The FP&A Manager will support the FP&A team and Califia’s senior leadership in performing financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the company. This will include, but is not limited to, assisting in budgeting, long-term planning, forecasting, variance analysis, project analysis, decision support, financial and operational reporting, etc. The FP&A Manager will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, becoming a subject matter expert on the financial performance of all operating departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization

Management Reporting

• Prepare and manage weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting to senior leadership (e.g. month-end financials and gross sales analysis)
• Prepare and report monthly budget vs. actual variance analysis, identify and explain variances, and provide commentary to inform outcomes and assumptions
• Prepare monthly and quarterly presentations to support Board Meetings
• Prepare monthly and year-end financial summaries for UK, Australia, and Canada businesses in collaboration with the Brand Management, Supply Chain, and Finance teams

Planning

• Working closely with the Sr. Director, FP&A, take a lead role in the development of the annual business planning and budgeting process; including the gathering of necessary data, development of supporting models, collaborating with business partners to determine assumptions, and establishing key benchmarks
• Partner with functional leads and deliver valuable insights and sound decision support to enable accurate quarterly/monthly forecasts

Commercialization

• Provide financial modeling, analysis, and valuation support for new product development and new business opportunities
• Partner with International and Brand Marketing teams to bring new products to market, increase customer distribution, and identify areas for margin improvement

Analytics

• Collect, analyze, and present financial information to business partners identifying risks and opportunities; play an active part in helping to solve problems and close gaps to budget
• Perform in-depth financial analysis, build strategic models, and develop fact-based recommendations to help senior leadership make informed business decisions
• Support any ad hoc financial analysis, modeling, and analytical support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required with 3-5 years of relevant business experience. MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing/CPG is a plus
• Proven interpersonal and team skills. Effectively communicates with, influences, and engages all levels of the organization
• Has a strong interest and aptitude to automate manual reports and processes
• Must be able to speak to key business drivers at a high level while understanding the details
• Ability to package executive-level presentations
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications
• Ability to work in a rigorous environment with shifting priorities while delivering on tight deadlines
