What are the responsibilities and job description for the Video Production Specialist position at California Baptist University?
The position provides video services that support California Baptist University. The role will
capture video and audio, edit, and organize assets. This position will also be required to film various campus events and create original content to support the university’s marketing goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Film and edit video and audio (music, sfx, voice-over) for promotional and social content.
- Understand digital video distribution strategies and tools, including streaming, YouTube and Vimeo.
- Storyboard clear, concise, and compelling concepts.
- Collaborate and accept directions professionally from a range of supervisors and clients.
- Organize and manage video inventory.
- Stay up to date and research current filming and editing trends.
- Plan and attend discovery meetings with clients to understand the full scope of projects.
- Meet project deadlines set by the supervisor. Proactively communicate with the supervisor.
- Work on concurrent projects while maintaining high standards of excellence, conformity to university graphic standards, and a positive, cooperative attitude.
- Share and consistently express the division’s commitment to express Christ’s attitude of service, excellence, humility, and dignity in each interaction with university clients and external vendors.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual storytelling.
- Knowledge of best practices for content creation for social media.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

- Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
- PROFICIENT IN:

- After Effects
- Working knowledge of standard workplace applications:
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Visual Communications or related field or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful experience in a related field that requires strong organizational and relational skills.
