Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Data, Visualization and Research, the Manager of Research and Data performs the following functions:

The Manager of Research & Data provides leadership in planning, research, policy analysis, data visualization, modeling and evaluation; Plan and manage accountability systems and institutional effectiveness frameworks for the California Community Colleges and the Chancellor's Office; Plan, manage and provide critical oversight and direction on highly complex research and data projects, including qualitative and quantitative analysis, data visualizations, conceptual and analytical models and simulations, surveys, enrollment forecasts, policy analysis, and trends important to colleges.

Note to Applicants: This position has a hybrid work setting. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on the Chancellor's Office's evolving telework policy. The Chancellor's Office supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to the headquarters office in Sacramento if an urgent need arises.

Working Conditions

Ability to use standard computer and/or office machines for an extended period of time.

Work in a climate-controlled, open office environment under artificial lighting.

Exposure to computer screens and other basic office equipment.

Periodic presentations may occasionally be required.

Ability to effectively work in a hybrid/telework setting within the state of CA.

Ability to supervise the work of others in a remote/hybrid work setting.

1. Please describe your quantitative and qualitative research experience.

2. Please describe your understanding of the California Community College data infrastructure.

3. Please describe your experience leading a team.
