California Cultured is a small, fast-paced company searching for a passionate, hands-on individual for the Head of Partnerships role. This candidate would support the research and development of our plant cell-cultured cacao. An ideal candidate will have a background in biochemistry or cell biology, and shows strong fundamental knowledge of plant cell culture and enjoys chocolate. This position will be responsible for management of media production and tissue culture inventory. A candidate is expected to be involved in some personnel management & training, while still responsible for developing personal experiments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial and market analyses to guide the go-to-market strategy for current products (e.g., pricing, distribution channels) and to pinpoint new market and product opportunities.
- Identify, engage with, and assess potential strategic partners for CA Cultured across the spectrum, from upstream R&D to downstream commercial and go-to-market collaborations.
- Assist CA Cultured leadership in preparing for external engagements with potential partners and other stakeholders, and represent CA Cultured directly when necessary.
- Provide support to the broader portfolio of the Chief Operating Officer where relevant, encompassing areas such as Product, Brand, and Project Management.
- Serve as a valued thought partner, generating insights for senior leadership on ways to better advance and realize the organization's vision
About You:
- A bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of experience in consulting, strategy, operations, and/or finance (including modeling proficiency).
- Demonstrated experience and/or a strong interest in the alternative proteins and cultivated meat industry.
- Proficiency in content design, research, analysis, and material creation (such as white papers, financial models, PowerPoint presentations) tailored for internal and external stakeholders of the company.
- Proven track record of success in: 1) designing user-friendly processes, 2) facilitating cross-functional collaboration on complex topics and objectives, and 3) synthesizing a cohesive strategic narrative from diverse inputs and defining actionable tactics.
- Ability to independently manage external relationships and drive project execution, while ensuring alignment with leadership when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport, trust, and alignment across a broad spectrum of leaders, ranging from individual contributors to senior management, irrespective of technical background, using various communication methods (virtual and face-to-face).
Compensation / salary range: $140,000 - $190,000
