Compounder Mixer - 2nd Shift at Food Manufacturing Company

We have an opening for a 2nd shift Batching Operator at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Greenwood. Second shift hours are 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Pay for 2nd shift begins at $21.00 per hour and you will work as a Helper, month two you will go to $22 per hour and become a Trainee. In month seven, if you are successful, you will go up to $23.00 per hour and work as a full Batching Operator. There will be another discretionary raise at 1 year, Some overtime may be required. Compensation includes full benefits after 30 days.

Batching Operators are responsible for inputting ingredients into a commercial food processor following precise procedures and formulas. Batching Operators ensure that safety guidelines are being followed and that production takes place in a very detailed but efficient manner. They work with ingredients including fruits, sweeteners and flavors.

Duties include: load ingredients manually (up to 50 pounds); follow precise instructions on formulas with no deviation; ensure proper amounts of pre-weighted ingredients are input by double checking amounts with a handheld calculator; follow good manufacturing practice guidelines to ensure food safety; pump liquid ingredients via a control meter into processors and help other Batching and Packaging Operators as needed.

Skills required are: team-work oriented; self-starter; dependable; responsible; attention to detail; good communication skills; ability to lift and pour 50 pounds; periods of standing and walking; ability to work in an alert and safe manner; ability to use a small handheld calculator for simple division; ability to communicate in English with co-workers in a respectful manner; ability to work overtime as needed; high school diploma or equivalent. Experience preferred in a food manufacturing production environment.
