We have been in practice for 32 years. Our four provider group operates from two different offices, one in Fresno and one in Madera, with two attached ambulatory endoscopy centers. Position Summary
As an integral part of the healthcare team, the endoscopy technician is a specialist in the use, management and reprocessing of the endoscopy equipment. The technician assists the physician in performing procedures and providing patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the endoscopist to perform biopsies, polypectomies, submucosal injections and other standard therapeutic maneuvers
- Assist with management and reprocessing of the endoscopes in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and the center’s infection control practices
- Handle pathology specimens and assist with their processing
- Coordinate patient care with the physician and nursing staff
- Assist nursing staff with preparation of the patient prior to the procedure
- Assist in other administrative tasks and duties at the endoscopy center
- Must have good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with staff, providers and patients
- Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Minimum Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experienced technicians preferred, but training can be provided for new practitioners.
- Prefer 1 year experience working in a healthcare setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
