Job/Department Summary:
The Farm Director will oversee operations and develop opportunities for Chico State agriculture students, faculty, staff, and our local agricultural industry. The Farm Director, as a member of the COA’s leadership team, reports to the Dean of the College. The Farm is fundamental to the University’s strategic priority toward resilient and sustainable systems. An overarching goal is for the Farm to be a living laboratory for our students and the faculty, and a center of excellence for education and training in agriculture.
Work closely with the current Farm Administrator during a transition period (less than one year) and assume full administrative responsibilities thereafter. Meet regularly with the farm advisory committee and other stakeholders to discuss Farm operations and development. Fully support the COA’s academic programs, experiential learning, and research opportunities. Diversify and solidify funding sources through industry partnerships and research collaborations. Initiate and cultivate collaborations with faculty and programs across campus. Develop and implement forums and events featuring local, regional, national, and global speakers.
Mandatory Vaccinations:
The CSU requires faculty, staff, and students who are accessing campus facilities to be immunized against COVID-19 or have received a medical or religious exemption. Selected candidates should be prepared to comply with this requirement.

Required Education and Experience:
A Master of Science degree in animal science, plant science, agricultural business, agricultural economics, plant pathology, agriculture systems, or similar discipline.
AND
Experience with crop, orchards, livestock, or food production, business, extension, or research.
Time Base: Full-time
Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm
Salary and Benefits Information:
Salary commensurate with background and experience of the individual selected. (Anticipated hiring salary NTE: $146,000 per year).
