Job/Department Summary:
Under general supervision of the Manager of Building Maintenance, the incumbent is responsible for providing the full range of skilled work in painting, finishing and maintaining a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures. The incumbent is expected to perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. May also provide instruction and lead direction to unskilled and semi-skilled assistants.
Facilities Management and Services (FMS) is a large, multifaceted department consisting of approximately 200 employees working various shifts and providing diverse administrative and operational services campus wide.
Required Education and Experience:
The knowledge and abilities listed above would normally be acquired through any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills equivalent to that acquired through completion of a standard painter's apprenticeship program.

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:00am-2:30pm, Summer - Mon-Thurs 6:00am-4:30pm.
CSU Classification Salary Range: $69,444 - $88,752 per year.

Additional Information:
This position as set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, is not designated as a required mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
The successful candidate will be required to pass a Respiratory Medical Evaluation.
A valid California Driver's License must be maintained throughout employment in this position as well as successful completion and continued compliance with the CSU Defensive Driver's Training course.
