Fleet Supervisor

Founded by a Doctor and a First Responder, Call the Car, is currently seeking a Fleet Supervisor to join our team of exceptionally skilled and committed non-medical emergency transportation specialists. Since 2010, Call the Car has been dedicated to improving access to healthcare.

Job Description:

  • Will be working in vehicle/office environment requiring evening and/or weekend work with required travel and overnight stays.
  • Will work in stressful conditions to include but not limited to; working outdoor in various types of weather conditions, lifting, pulling, pushing, sitting for long periods of time, standing, bending over, and kneeling.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion of all duties.
  • Participates in recruitment, development, and retention of drivers.
  • Interviews potential drivers.
  • Completes new hire paperwork for review by the Fleet Manager.
  • Trains new and existing drivers.
  • Introduces Drivers to CTC Culture.
  • Evaluates Driver performance and recommends merit increases and disciplinary actions
  • Prepares disciplinary action for review by the Fleet Manager.
  • Reviews Driver Events weekly report and provide recommendations for repeat offenders to the Fleet Manager.
  • Reviews complaints involving the driver.
  • Completes and submits Performance Evaluations as scheduled to the Fleet Manager.
  • Coordinates with the Fleet Manager to determine appropriate merit increases based on Performance Evaluations.
  • Fleet Scheduling and Availability
  • Determines and submits driver monthly schedules to the Fleet Manager for review and approval.
  • Determines and submits fleet vehicle availability to the Fleet manager for review and approval.
  • Reviews driver and vehicle assignment each day to ensure maximization of fleet capacity. Coordinates directly with Dispatch if fleet is not at maximum capacity.
  • Dialysis Center Checks
  • Performs relational checks with Dialysis Centers and Staff.
  • Completes field review of drivers’ performance.
  • Fleet Maintenance
  • Coordinates preventative maintenance for vehicle fleet.
  • Gathers estimates for vehicle repairs for approval by the Fleet Manager.
  • Inspects all vehicles each month to ensure quality.
  • Ensures vehicles are washed and cleaned weekly both interior and exterior
  • Ensures drivers are completing daily vehicle inspections.
  • First Responder on Scene of Incidents
  • Intercepts vehicles or members who have been involved in an incident or accident.
  • Collects proper documentation.
  • Organizes Quarterly Meetings with Drivers for training both expanded and review.
  • Acts as a backup driver to recover trips or schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years Fleet experience.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must have previous professional driving experience in a similar industry.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time and push, pull, and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Screening and Sex Offender Registry Search and annually thereafter.
  • Must pass OIG Exclusion Listing and SAM Exclusion Listing and monthly thereafter.
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records check and continuously during employment.
  • Must pass a Drug Screen and randomly thereafter.
  • Must pass Alcohol Screenings and randomly thereafter.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, systems and objectives.
  • Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment.
  • Skilled in planning, organizing, and prioritizing.
  • Skilled in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.
  • Experience using MediRoutes, Linxup and Wen Fleet preferred, not required.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining quality improvement.
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.

Reports to: Fleet Manager

Work Locations: Lancaster/Palmdale, CA and surrounding areas
