Job Title: Maintenance

Department: Rooms

Reports to: General Manager

SUMMARY:

Daily maintenance such as sweeping, carpet cleaning, loading firewood, splitting firewood, monitoring water and septic systems, sprinkler system, landscaping, setting tables and chair setups, etc.

Long-term projects i.e.

Mild remodeling, painting, plumbing projects, electrical projects, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Uses various hand tools, such as hammers, pliers, saws, chisels, and screwdrivers
  • Uses various power tools, such as drills, skill-saws, jigsaws, and reciprocating saws
  • Splitting Firewood
  • Loading Firewood
  • Operating Backhoe
  • Monitor Water and Septic Systems
  • Has basic carpentry knowledge
  • Has basic plumbing knowledge
  • Has basic electrical knowledge
  • Has basic painting skills
  • Has a good working knowledge of safety requirements as it relates to OSHA requirements and the proper use of tools, when performing work
  • Maintains the maintenance (shop) area to avoid hazards and accidents
  • Answers calls from guests and other colleagues when maintenance issues occur
  • Interacts with guests in a courteous and professional manner. Greet each guest with the appropriate salutation

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of previous experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short conversations, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in small groups situations to customers, clients, and other colleagues of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight, measurement, volume and distance Ability to calculate figures, as needed using a measuring tape.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
