The IT Manager is responsible for managing the information and technology systems around and within the physical confines of the property. The position also provides leadership and direction with regards to the future technology path, ensuring that the technology resources support delivery of the strategic business objectives of Pink Adventure Tours. Additionally, this role provides management, leadership, and mentorship for all other IT department employees, currently a staff of 4.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensures that the organization is effectively utilizing information technology and systems to enhance business practices and objectives. This is achieved the through keeping up to date on technological advancements and relating these to current and potential business practices.
- Ensures the effective use of current systems and software. Implements training programs which ensure all staff are taking full advantage of the technology available to them. This includes improving system and process as needed.
- Protects data by maintaining user profiles and data security for all software applications.
- Ensures technology system operations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, contractual obligations, and established security protocols.
- Ensures continuous delivery of technology services in accordance with service level agreements established with users and timely resolution of support issues.
- Develops, communicates, and enforces policies and standards for acquiring, testing, implementing and operating technology systems.
- Takes a leadership role in developing integrated systems and procedures to minimize data input redundancy and provides users with valuable information in an easy to utilize manner.
- Provides leadership team with required information through report generation, verbal and written communications.
- Monitors and controls information technology costs by developing a Plan of Action and associated budget for each year.
- Research & recommend new software acquisitions in keeping with organization requirements and optimization opportunities.
- Creates work environment conducive to individual development, productivity, and achievement while ensuring open lines of communication.
- Provides direction, guidance and support to team members and motivating staff to achieve a high level of performance and productivity.
- Establishes performance objectives/goals, reviewing progress throughout the year, and completes formal performance reviews for direct reports as required.
- Undertakes and collaborates in special assignments or projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in information technology and/or 10 years of progressive and related technology experience or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership capacity directing employees and managing a budget.
- Experience working in a distributed IT environment.
- Solid understanding of business practices and how information systems and technology support these practices.
- Ability to anticipate organizational technical needs and opportunities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent project management and time management skills, with the ability to keep on task with strategic items while managing day-to-day responsibilities.
KEY METRICS
- All IT systems are running at optimal levels.
- Good internal customer satisfaction ratings/feedback from ticketing system.
- DR plans are validated and current.
- Help ticket volume appropriately managed.
- IT costs remain controlled through effective and well thought through appropriate cost/benefit decisions.
- Adheres to company procedures regarding security and confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel nationally up to 10% of the time.
- Lifting and moving equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stretch, bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, walk, and stand/sit for up to 8 hours per day.
- Must be comfortable working on roofs and in tight spaces.
