Job Summary: The Fleet Manager is responsible for the oversight and supervision of drivers and vehicles in a profitable, professional, and safety-oriented manner. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Fleet manager has direct influence over drivers, and in matters relating to the drivability of vehicles, however this does not include authority for employment actions (i.e., hiring/firing).
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Commits to protecting drivers, customers and community unconditionally. Stays up to date and enforces compliance with DOT policies and procedures.
- Acts as a liaison between Drivers, Dispatch, and Owners to keep all personnel informed of issues that may impact customer expectations and/or Driver needs.
- Maintain ELD driver profiles & permissions, creating and deactivating accounts as necessary.
- Monitors and coaches fleet performance in terms of on-time delivery, HOS compliance, safe driving.
- Assists dispatch in communicating expectations of loads, equipment needs, directions, phone numbers, fuel routing/solutions.
- Monitors and updates weekly KPI reports (ELD Compliance, CSA scores, etc.).
- Monitors efficiency and productivity reports. (% idle, mpg, hard brakes, % under dispatch.
- Works with Safety department to keep fleets current with FMCSA/DMV requirements. (HOS, drug testing, physicals, licenses, training, etc.).
- Conducts driver reviews bi-annually, provides continuous feedback in advance of reviews of driver performance. Ensures that all Drivers are meeting the expectations and standards, making recommendations when expectations are not met.
- Coordinates with Shop Foreman to put vehicles and trailers in/out of availability, working with drivers to maintain maximum on the road time.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle acquisition & sales, handling DMV transactions to ensure fleet is compliant
- Oversee fuel card access and account management

Education and Experience:
- A High School Diploma or a General Education Degree
- Previous experience working and managing staff within the trucking industry preferred

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
