Merit full time position, Grade 15, 35 hours per week. This position is eligible for telework.
Performs general office clerical work in support of unit operations with heavy reliance on manual and/or computer processes. Such processes may involve compilation of reports. The work involves providing general office support services such as telephone, visitor and volunteer receptionist, word processing, and other general office clerical tasks. The work requires training and no prior experience in office clerical work. The work is performed under close to general supervision of administrative staff or higher graded office staff.
Receives and assists visitors to the office; queries visitors and directs them to appropriate staff or offices.
Receives and assists volunteers working on site, explains office protocol and directs to work area.
Responsible to maintain various databases with the addition or correction of information.
Operating of LiveScan electronic fingerprinting equipment, including acting as program administrator.
Receives, screens, and refers telephone calls; queries callers and transfers or refers calls to appropriate staff or other offices.
Handles, inputs, and transmits accident reports, DWI investigations, and other reports to the appropriate destination.
Receives and routes mail; directs items to other staff or County offices as appropriate.
Processes information by keying data into computer databases and other computerized record systems; codes and verifies data; updates, edits and corrects data files; produces computer printouts.
Maintains manual and/or automated financial, accounting, personnel and other administrative and management files and records; ensures confidentiality of files and records and uses discretion in controlling access to and release of information.
Produces a variety of word processed documents such as letters, memoranda, and reports; keyboards copy from drafts; proofs and edits materials for accuracy of grammar, spelling, punctuation and format and makes corrections; ensures adherence to established style guides and formats.
Communicates throughout the County and with external entities to schedule and arrange meetings and relay or obtain information; ensures through appropriate follow up, explanation and instructions that are properly acted upon.
Uses a variety of computer equipment to ascertain tapes used for legal or management needs.
