: HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHER

: Career & Technology Academy


POSITION SUMMARY
: Pending student enrollment, the following is a listing of tentative high school summer school teacher vacancies. High School Summer School will begin on July 08, 2024, and run through August 1, 2024. High School Summer School will take place at the Career & Technology Academy. Classes will be in session from 7:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. or 11:45 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.


  • English: Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12
  • Mathematics: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra II, Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, Pre-Calculus
  • Science: Biology, Matter and Energy, Chemistry, Earth Science
  • Social Studies: Modern World History, United States History, and American Government


Online High School Summer School will begin on June 24, 2024, and run through August 1, 2024. Online High School Summer School will have required face-to-face meetings, locations, dates, and times, to be determined.

  • Financial Literacy
  • Foundations of Computer Science
  • Health I and II
  • Spanish I and II
  • Music Appreciation


General Education and Special Education position availability is contingent on student enrollment.


EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

At the time of application, the candidate must hold or be eligible for:


  • MSDE certification in the above subject area(s) is required.


APPLICATION PROCEDURE

References must be directly related to educational experience and must include immediate supervisor.


State law requires that anyone hired after October 1, 1986, who will have contact with school children, must be fingerprinted and submit to a criminal background investigation. Federal law requires that a new employee must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) in person before beginning employment. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Current employees of the Calvert County Public Schools are exempt from these requirements.


House Bill 486 – Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct Prevention Statement

Pursuant to Section 6-113.2 of the Education Article, Annotated Code of Maryland - House Bill 486 - Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct Prevention all applicants are required to report all former employers in which you may have had direct contact with minors. The applicant must submit the contact information of the current employer, all former school employers, and all former employers not school related. Applicants should also include contact information for organizations in which you have volunteered, coached, mentor, tutored or otherwise had direct contact with minors.
