The Printing Press Helper is responsible for assisting in operating finishing presses to produce quality color matched, finished labels. S/he will assist with ensuring quality labels are produced, help with plate mounting, and completing tasks in our ERP The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude and the desire to learn the label production process. This role reports to the Finishing press lead.
This shift is from 5 am - 1:30 pm M-F
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Finishing press lead with preparing jobs.
- Perform the setup and operation of the finishing press and lamination.
- Ensure the press room is stocked with needed supplies, i.e., ink, film, stock, etc.
- Clean plates and flexo stations to ensure they are in good working order.
- Maintain and clean press before and after each shift.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of problems during machine operation.
- Ensure that regular and preventative maintenance procedures are carried out.
- Ensure all safety devices and guards are fully operational and that safety procedures are being observed.
- Ensure that machines are producing quality products by managing periodic checks on output.
- Record all production performance, counts, downtime and other quality or production related information as required.
- Meet specified production performance targets.
- Participate in production process improvement efforts.
- Visually inspect products for quality checks, registration, ink coverage, and numbering sequence.
- Assist in QC, Shipping and Delivery when needed to maintain a proper lead time for all products.

REQUIREMENTS
- High School graduate, or completion of GED required
- Forklift certification a plus
- This position requires and individual who is technically and mechanically oriented with strong computer skills with file-to-print process
