Report writer reports to the CIO and is responsible for creating and maintaining the company’s Microsoft Business Intelligence reporting products used by both clinical and administrative departments. In addition, assignments may de directed toward accomplishing either specific programs or broad objectives set by Camarena Health overall need.
EXPECTATIONS
Arrives on time and adheres to set schedule.
Development of visual reports, dashboards, mobile and paginated reports with SSRS.
Connecting to various data sources, importing data, and transforming data for BI use.
Manage the distribution of reports with data driven and scheduled subscriptions in SSRS.
Perform work on site in a self-managed environment while collaborating with colleagues to accurately complete reporting requirements under tight timeliness. Works flexible or extended hours when necessary and in appropriate locations.
Maintains a team-oriented philosophy in a change-oriented environment.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Focus on Training:
Understanding of a wide range of interpretive analysis tools (e.g. trend analysis, spreadsheets, comparisons, graphs, summary versus detail charts, drill down, correlations, exception analysis)
Ability to question and eyeball data quality in reports.
Analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical people
Supporting electronic medical records from an application analyst or analytics / reporting perspective.
Developing reports in SQL, reporting tools (such as Crystal Reports, Business Objects, Cognos, Access) and Excel.
Developing requirements and delivering projects in a direct working relationship with clinicians, end-users and stakeholders.
Developing complex SQL scripts, views, and stored procedures
SQL tuning & data profiling
Interest in becoming a content expert in healthcare reporting databases and warehouses.
Focus on Projects Coordination:
Assist in EHR development and upgrades. Assist with project coordination and implementation.
Develops project objectives by conferring with management.
Determines project responsibilities by developing a work breakdown structure that assigns personnel to project phases and elements.
Manages project schedules, milestones and change requests; holds vendors and other project resources to task and knows when to escalate to supervisor and senior management when projects are at the risk of getting off schedule and budget.
Resolves organization problems within projects by presenting and evaluating options and determining best course of action.
Performs hardware upgrade and installations directly related to the database applications.
Focus on Quality Improvement:
Develops and implements various activities to improve overall quality of organization.
Tracks and analyzes trends and outcome reports and advises senior management on areas to improve upon.
Finds areas to improve that can become opportunities for new training sessions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Associates degree in related field. Bachelor degree preferred.
Prior Experience:
Knowledge of and practical experience with specific tools or technologies used to perform the job include (but are not limited to): SSRS, SSIS, SSMS and T-SQL.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move up to 20 pounds and push up to 50 pounds (on wheels).
Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff.
Must be able to have vision that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents.
Must have high manual dexterity.
Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouching, reaching, kneeling, twisting/turning, fingering and feeling.
Role involves standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, sitting, and driving.
