Position: Educator
Location: Santa Barbara, CA 93105
Shift: Day(Day shift, M-F hours standard 1st shift hours * This is a leadership role, will be considered weekly exempt )
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours/day: 8 hours
Hours/week: 40 hours
Duties:
The educator uses the educational design process to bridge the knowledge, skills, and/or practice gaps identified through a needs assessment. Critical Behaviors: Employs teaching and evaluation strategies grounded in both educational theory and evidence-based practices taking into consideration the learner’s needs i.e. culture, literacy and language. Identifies program objectives and outcomes. Promotes/provokes anticipatory, critical and reflective thinking. Designs, implements and facilitates programs promoting continuous quality improvement. Uses effective time management and cost effective strategies. Measures and evaluates course content and outcomes. Uses gap analysis to determine/prioritize and develop annual competencies to promote learning and patient safety. Supports orientation/onboarding of staff. The educator advances the profession by contributing to the professional development of
others and supports life-long learning as individuals develop across practice, professional
and educational settings. The educator influences interprofessional practices, the nursing
professional development specialty, the profession of nursing and healthcare.

learning and practice environments, role transitions and various professional stages.

Requirement:
BLS, ACLS is area standard, California Registered Nurse license required. 5 years recent experience in a clinical setting related to specialty area; unit based
education leadership
Preferred: Experience in a defined Educator Role
